Many medical professionals still insist that there is no link between diet and acne, but I just can’t buy that point of view. If you suffer from acne it’s because your body has a low tolerance for certain chemicals and/or hormones that are present inside of you, and is using sebum oil in an attempt to get rid the excess. Believing that adding more of this stuff that is present in your food won’t matter is absurd.
Acne normally first rears it’s nasty head in our teenage years. Your hormone production is pegged on high and your body is getting rid of the excess in sebum oil that is sent out through your skin. The presence of too much sebum on your skin is the first requirement for pimple formation.
Would you agree that, since your hormone level is already too high, do you think it’s smart to add even more? That’s exactly what you’ll do by consuming any kind of dairy product. Just drinking a glass of milk will add saturated animal fat, various steroids, and 59 different hormones to your system. An effective acne diet will severely limit, or, better yet, eliminate dairy from your diet.
If your acne follows you into your adult years, the probable cause is a low tolerance for chemicals that are used in processed foods. Your body reacts to these chemicals the same way that it did for the excessive hormones in your teen years. Again, your body uses sebum oil to cleanse the toxins, and acne begins.
Any effective diet for acne prone skin will eliminate processed foods to remove the root cause of extra sebum production.
These examples indicate that, no matter what others may have told you, there is an absolute link between diet and acne. Just never forget that acne starts on the inside. Treat the internal problem and the external symptoms will go away on their own.
